Adam Jones Signs with Denver Broncos: Love it or Hate it
Adam Jones Signs with Denver Broncos: Love it or Hate it? John Elway decided rookie corner Isaac Yiadom & 2nd Year CB were not up to par, and signed NFL veteran & former Cincinnati Bengals CB Adam “PacMan” Jones to a 1 year $1.025 million deal. Jones was in a fist fight at an Atlanta airport just over a month ago. Is this the right move heading into the 2017 season.
The Broncos definitely need better depth at the cornerback position, but with his multiple arrests off the field, is year long suspension in 2009, assault chargers, and assaults against women why would the Broncos not consider bringing in other available free agent CB’s? Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie formerly of the Giants & Broncos is available, Kayvon Webster former Bronco and Los Angeles Rams defender is available, as is Bashaud Breeland who played with the Washington Redskins. Including Jones, none of those guys are guaranteed to be impactful players in 2018, but the 3 just mentioned do not have the off-field problems that have plagued Jones during his career. That’s Good Sports evaluates whether or not this was a good signing for the Broncos defense, and for the message it sends from the organization in terms of what moral principles the team is willing to bend. Between Chris Harris Jr., Bradley Roby, Tramaine Brock, and Adam Jones the Broncos secondary should be able to compete against most opposing offenses.
